Learn the fundamentals of guitar that will enable you to play basic melodies and accompaniments for tunes found in most songbooks. Topics covered include primary chords, accompaniment styles, note reading, care and maintenance of your instrument, elements of playing various musical styles and much more. Repertoire will match both the student's skill level and their musical preferences.

Mr. Jon Batt brings a varied teaching and performance background to students at Music Time Learning Center. An honors graduate in music education from Wichita State University, he is a professional guitarist providing private and group instruction for children and adults for over 25 years. Being a former school music director, beginning band instrument lessons are offered as well. Jon is familiar with many musical styles but specializes in rock, country, fingerstyle, music theatre, sight reading and music theory. He has played with assorted bands, performed with groups backing various headliners and is presently working on group and solo projects.
For the 2010 - 2011school year we have classes on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Our fall semester requires an 18 week commitment. The semester begins Aug. 9 and ends in December. Tuition will be prorated if the student begins after Aug. 9. Lessons are 30 private or 50 minutes with a group of 2-4.
