about Music Time classes ......
Thanks MTLC! We took Jake to a tumbling class at a local gymnasium to see how he liked it. It was the first time he’s ever taken a class by himself and I was so worried. He was either going to run around like a crazy person, or join the class and follow the instructions. He was an angel and really enjoyed the class, and I credit it all to Kindermusik and MTLC. Since he’s been coming as a baby, he’s been taught by you how to behave in a class environment and it’s really helped him become a sweet little man.

Kindermusik enriches and reinforces all kinds of physical and educational skills from improving coordination and learning sign-language to just getting out and getting some exercise and learning how to communicate and be with other children through musical activities.

I believe that it is important for our children in the community to have every opportunity that is available for them to be introduced to music. I can see during music time how much our children appreciate the class with Ms. Ebony. Our Center is located the Atlanta Area in a low income community. The majority of our children who attends our center are either enrolled in our Pre-K program which is a free State Funded Program, EHS program which is income qualifying (low-income) others who receive child care assistance or scholarships. Based on this our parents are not able to pay additional funds for extra activities.
Raising Musical Children is wonderful because it introduces the children to different cultures of music. Ms. Ebony and also other teachers in the past have worked so hard with the children from infancy through Pre-K. Melody Johnson. May 2009

Providing a quality Music program to our children has improved our children and teachers ability to incorporate music in the lives daily. They have been exposed to a variety of instrument and diverse music. I have seen our children grow since participating in this program. Their interest in music and their attention span has grown. Sheltering Arms depends on public and private funding to assist our program. We serve underprivileged families that receive assistance to attend our program. This year, our agency lost funding from major contributor (i.e. United Way) due to the economic crisis. Therefore, it is difficult to pay for things outside of our normal operating expenses.
We recently achieved our Re-Accreditation for NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), the highest Accreditation that one can receive at the Early Education level. One of the requirements was that we offer outside music to the children. They were able to see, first hand the wonder job that Ms. Ebony does with the children. I believe that says it all. -- May 2009

I have been blessed to have my children involved with MTLC for several years now. My eldest sons have benefitted from Mary Beth Frasier's outstanding piano instruction, having received scholarship assistance from MTLC. We would have really struggled to keep all our children involved in music lessons without the extra financial assistance. All of our children have been through the Kindermusik for the Young Child two year program, with our fourth and youngest being currently enrolled. I cannot express how much I love the hands-on approach to learning music my children have experienced through MTLC! I have thoroughly enjoyed the process! All the teachers which we have encountered through MTLC have been passionate about what they do, with an enthusiasm that is contagious. Keep up the excellent work! -- Heidi Fletcher. December 2008
My daughter and I joined Kindermusik when she was only 4.5 months old. It has been a very exciting weekly experience for both of us. My daughter loves the music, instruments, and motion. Now at a year old, she loves music and dances around our kitchen. I plan on continuing Kindermusik classes throughout my daughter's childhood. I highly recommend this program and believe Kindermusik has been a great opportunity for us! -- Debi Majeski
Kindermusikhas introduced Mya to social and physical development through music. I have enjoyed the special mother and daughter bond that we experience together during our Kindermusik sessions. I have enjoyed watching the children in Mya's class grow and learn to express their own personalities throughout the semesters.
Kindermusik has been a great learning tool for both Mya and myself. -- Ann Waters
My son Djimon has been a student of MTLC for 3 years. Piano lessons has developed Djimon's appreciation for music tremendously. It has made him more outgoing, and most of all his confidence has increased. Djimon was never one to seek out public positions. Now, he routinely seeks out different venues where he is on a public forum. He ran for student council and won a seat, he volunteered to be in the school chorus and he volunteered for K-Kids (an organization where kids can perform helpful projects). I can definitely credit MTLC for helping to instill great confindence in my son! -- Caroll Sylvester
My daughter Stella’s Kindermusik class was the perfect compliment to the speech therapy she needed at age 3. We found her to be more expressive when she was stimulated in ways she enjoyed – like in music class! The program was fun enough to keep her captivated, while challenging her language and attention skills. Her participation with the other children in the class also helped her imitate and follow their speech and performance. -- Barbara Baez
Kindermusik has been a great developmental opportunity for our daughter. Her face lights up when we sing a song from class and clap together. We've really seen her skills grow and believe that the program is a valuable way to instill a love for music, have fun with other children and adults, and provide ideas for playtime. -- C. Williams (Village Participant)
just wanted to let you know how much Annabelle and I are enjoying the class. She doesn't say much during class but BOY does she use what we learn the rest of the week! She used to love me to sing ANY song while we're driving, etc. - NOW it's specific requests: NO Mama - sing FISH (LIttle fish/big fish) or NO Mama - Clap! (Clapping Land) Thanks for being such a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher -- Karla
